SINGAPORE: The VVIP rooms of the Palace 8 Marina, a premium karaoke nightclub attached to Singapore’s Marina Mandarin Hotel, have been equipped with new audio solutions comprising loudspeakers from FBT and wireless systems from Mipro.
The nightclub – boasting a floor-space of almost 2,000 sq-m – includes a number of KTV and private areas, culminating in the luxury of its five VVIP rooms. The venue is described by its management as ‘a large social playground’ offering a ‘five star prestigious experience’.
Completed in March, the installation was managed by Terence Mok of systems integrator Prolight & Sound. Now spread between the five rooms are 20 CLA 604A active column speakers from FBT, plus 20 CLA 208SA active subwoofers, and five of the Italian manufacturer’s DLM 26 digital processors. Also included are five KM 500 karaoke amplifiers from Mipro plus five sets of the manufacturer’s ACT 312 dual channel diversity wireless microphone systems.
Mr Mok was assisted in tuning the systems by Victor Chiam of Aexxus Inc, who declared himself happy with the final result. ‘With the FBT digital sound processors, the system can be tuned such that there is no feedback even if the wireless microphones are near or pointing at the speakers,’ he explained. ‘Guests in the VVIP rooms can sing without worrying about standing too near to the speakers. So far, we have received positive comments from the owner and their customers.’
